Michele Lamy

What would you think this lady is if you pass her by the streets of Paris?, this enigmatic lady is no other than Rick Owens' wife and muse, every collection is inspired by her.

She was born in Paris in the middle of the World War II, her parents had to do with fashion, specially making jewelry for Paul Poiret, she is known to have a rebellious life since she was young. In her twenties she abandoned her career as defense attorney and joined the social movements in the sixties at Paris, she also became a stripper.

She decided then, to move to The United States, she lived in California by her thirties, where she met the artists and the cultural elite that surrounded her. She also gave birth to her daughter Scarlett Rouge by that time. After this period of her life she decided to start her own business and that's how Les Deux Cafés was born, it was established in a parking lot at Hollywood. In 2002 she decided to move back to Paris where she met his future husband Rick Owens, they have been together ever since, she is his muse and also his wife. Her protégé is the designer Gareth Pugh that has almost the same essence as Owens.

She has been dressed in Rick Owens ever since they met, her style is so unique, she is like a modern gipsy, you can find her really dark and somber, but I think this enigmatic vibe that surrounds her is what makes her so special, she draws a black line with pencil eyeliner just to remind herself to be grounded, she decided to get gold teeth just to be able to sing King Kong Blues, she also paints her nails with henna, because it doesn't chip. She created a jewelry line with the name of Lamy and also a line of sunglasses under her name.

Definitely she is a character in the Parisian scene, I wish she can go out more often so we can have more pictures of her, but she is special as she is and I think that is what we are always going to remember her for...
