Geraldine García

This is the second post about Salvadoran fashion designers, last time we talked about IVO now, we need to talk about Geraldine García. She studied in the prestigious IED in Milan then she moved to the IED's headquarters in Barcelona, finishing her studies in 2010, she returned later that year to El Salvador to put into practice what she learned there. When you see a dress by Geraldine, you need to take a seat in order to perceive each detail, each seam, each pleat, I mean, all her clothes are amazing to appreciate.

She presented her first collection in El Salvador in 2011 as well as IVO at KLDSCP 2nd Edition, where her collection was one of the most successful at that event, you can really tell she loves textures, all those ruffles and all those organic textures from that collection were outstanding. Her color palette was almost everything in pastels and neutral colors.

She decided to present her second collection at the first edition of SVFW in 2011, the woman she wanted to recreate was a very elegant woman, almost in a regal aura, this was the 2011s Holiday Collection, that is why all those dresses where definitely perfect for any event you might have to attend on this season.

Even Costa Rica based model Ekaterina Skliar couldn't resist to wear GG to the UCreativa's 2012 fashion show

It was the beginning of 2012 and the next KLDSCP was around the corner, Geraldine was ready to present again on this contest, the woman of this collection was a very active woman and her closet was the dream closet of every woman: practical, cute, full of details such as beading and embroidery and clothes you can wear at any time of the day.

This statuesque dress is magnificent

After KLDSCP she decided to make a collaboration with the Argentina based and Salvadorean photographer Böhmisch which was titled "Femenidad que Grita" (Screaming Femininity). She showed the most gorgeous dresses she presented before at KLDSCP 2012 and SVFW 2011, the result was a portray of every woman's dream: to dress in a gorgeous gown 24/7

This is gorgeous, isn't it?

For her second edition of SVFW she decided to play with textures in a different way, instead of fabric appliques or intricate beading she decided to play with leather, brocades, organza and with lamé. The color palette of this collection was full of neutrals, with yellow and shocking pink as color accents.

Then she decided to take a quick break and she showed her most recent collection last week at the third edition of SVFW, this collection was magical, I think that break helped her to find new techniques, and also to redefine her as a designer, this collection was very clean even though of the details, she managed to create a really good collection, particularly one jacket stole my heart, the shape and its clean lines, it was absolutely amazing, it was almost couture. I hope Geraldine continues to wow us in her next collections, just stay tuned because this girl is always going to have something new for us.

I mean, this jacket is everything!
