"Eternity Dress" by Tilda Swinton and Olivier Saillard

Tilda Swinton likes to perform, she is a natural artist, and she does it really good. In this occasion she took her act to Paris, more specifically to the amphitheater at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts, were she and the fashion curator Olivier Saillard, performed the Eternity Dress.

The presentation was all about the magic and the ritual of making a dress, a very Haute Couture dress, we must say. She was measured from head to toe, and she tried on different muslins, samples of collars and sleeves, and also fabric (remember how old couturiers used to drape the actual fabric on the model to get an idea about the construction of the garment)
Christian Lacroix, Jean Paul Gaultier, Clare Waight Keller, Haider Ackermann, Veronique Nichanian, Bruno Frisoni and Bouchra Jarrar were part of the public. Jean Paul Gaultier was speechless by the performance of Swinton, “a high priestess of body language and interpretation of clothes — she is a sculptor in the way she rolls herself into fabric.” Gaultier said.

A Tilda Swinton le encanta el arte del performance, ella es una artista natural, y ella lo hace realmente excelente. Esta ocasión ella llevó su arte a Paris, específicamente al anfiteatro de la École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts, donde ella y el curador de modas Olivier Saillard dieron paso a "Eternity Dress". La presentación fue acerca de la magia, y el ritual de hacer un vestido, un vestido de muy alta costura diría yo. Ella fue medida de pies a cabeza, ella se probó diferentes "muslins" que es el vestido construido en tela de prueba para verificar su caída, su talle y su presencia visual, antes de pasar a cortar en la tela que se ocupará, también le probaron diferentes "cuellos" y mangas, inclusive ella misma se envolvió en tela (Recuerdan cómo los grandes diseñadores se inspiraban drapeando la tela sobre la modelo en sí). Christian Lacroix, Jean Paul Gaultier, Clare Waight Keller, Haider Ackermann, Veronique Nichanian, Bruno Frisoni y Bouchra Jarrar fueron parte de los asistentes. Jean Paul Gaultier estaba atónito por el performance de Swinton "Una alta sacerdotiza del lenguaje corporal y de la interpretación de la ropa - Ella es una escultora en la forma en cómo se enrolla en la tela", dijo Gaultier.
